Denervation
The treatment for denervation is the removal of the pulp of the tooth, a small thread-like tissue in the center of the tooth. When the pulp is damaged, infected or dead then it must be removed, and the rest of the space cleaned, filled and sealed. This process completes the denervation.
Years ago, an infected tooth or wound pulp had to be removed. Today, the denervation process, with the help of dental lasers, saves many teeth that would have been lost.
